Following in his grandad’s and dad’s footsteps, Chris began his journey with James Engineering in 1980 at just 15 years old. Starting out drilling holes on the shop floor, he worked his way up through the business to become Managing Director.
Chris’s “can-do” attitude has been a driving force behind the company’s success. Even through the toughest times, his relentless determination and hands-on leadership have kept the business moving forward. With the responsibility of over 70 employees’ livelihoods resting on his shoulders, failure has never been an option.
He thrives on helping customers solve problems—from the initial site visit right through to final installation—and his vast industry experience plays a key role in delivering the right solutions every time.
Always willing to lend a hand and support others with opportunities for employment, Chris remains grounded, staying true to his values and the family legacy that shaped the business.

His hobbies include boxing, going to the gym, mountain biking and DIY.
His favourite project to date is the replacement chimney at Ballylumford Power Station - a standout project whose scale and tight timescales set a new benchmark for what we’re capable of delivering.
