Fabrication Facilities
As a leading specialist steel fabricator in the East Midlands, James Engineering operates four dedicated manufacturing shops with extensive lifting capacity and modern equipment.
Workshop 1 Measuring 30 m x 19 m and equipped with a 10‑ton overhead crane, Workshop 1 is set up for efficient handling and fabrication of a wide range of steel components.
Workshop 2 At 38 m x 13 m, Workshop 2 benefits from both 10‑ton and 6‑ton overhead cranes, providing flexibility for varied project sizes and configurations.
Workshop 3 The largest facility, 57 m x 18 m, is fitted with 25‑ton and 7.5‑ton overhead cranes to accommodate heavy and oversized fabrications. This workshop also houses our submerged arc welding (SAW) capability, combining power, precision and productivity for large weld runs.
Workshop 4 A dedicated stainless-steel workshop measuring 30 m x 27 m, physically separated to remove any risk of cross‑contamination with mild steel and maintain the integrity of stainless fabrications.
All fabrication shops operate in line with the regulation EN 1090-1 Execution Class 4 requirements, supporting consistent quality and safety across every project.
Welding Capability
James Engineering offers a comprehensive range of welding processes, including MAG, MIG, TIG, MMA and SMAW -submerged arc welding, enabling the team to select the most appropriate technique for each material and application. Skilled welders work within controlled procedures to deliver strong, consistent welds that meet both design and code requirements.
From one‑off fabrications to large multi‑tonne structures, the company’s production capability is geared towards delivering high‑quality steelwork on time and in line with client expectations.
